Poffertjes!
Description of the recipe:
A traditional Dutch delicacy.
Preparation of the recipe:
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the milk. In a separate bowl, combine the buckwheat flour, flour, eggs, yeast, sugar, salt and half the milk. Whisk smooth. Now add the remaining milk and beat again. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow to rest for an hour.
Melt butter in a frying pan. When it sizzles, add teaspoonfuls of the batter in circular movements to create the mini pancakes. Turn the poffertjes around as soon as the bottom has set, using two forks.
Serve Pancake Puffs with strawberries, whipped cream and a dusting of powdered sugar.

1 cup flour (100 g)

Gevangenpoort, The Hague!

| De Gevangenpoort! De Gevangenpoort is een middeleeuwse gevangenis in Den Haag. Sinds 1882 is in het gebouw een museum gevestigd. De gevangenpoort ligt dicht bij het Binnenhof en de Hofvijver. Achter de poort ligt wat in Den Haag nu de "Plaats" wordt genoemd. Aan het hoofd van dit plein bevond zich 'het Groene Zoodje'. Dit was de executieplaats. The Prison is a medieval prison in The Hague. Since 1882, the building houses a museum. The gatehouse is close to the Parliament and the Hofvijver. Behind the gate is now in The Hague as the "City" is mentioned. At the head of the square stood "Green Zoodje. This was the execution site. |
