De aardappeleters! The Potato Eaters - Vincent van Gogh

De Aardappeleters is de titel van een schilderij van Vincent van Gogh. Het is gemaakt in 1885 in Nuenen. Afgebeeld is de familie De Groot aan de Gerwenseweg 4.

Van Gogh heeft meerdere studies gemaakt voordat hij aan het werk begon. Hij zocht telkens naar een nieuwe compositie en expressie. Het doek hangt tegenwoordig in het Van Gogh Museum, waar het behoort tot de vaste collectie.

The Potato Eaters is the title of a painting by Vincent van Gogh. It was created in 1885 in Nuenen. Shown is the De Groot family to Gerwenseweg 4. Van Gogh has made several studies before the work began. He always looked for a new composition and expression. The painting is today in the Van Gogh Museum, where it belongs to the permanent collection
