Marlena de Blasi. Regional Foods of Southern Italy!

Another good book of Marlena de Blasi.

Regional Foods of Southern Italy distills the essence of the region's traditional foods in a beautifully wrought
amalgam of narrative and recipe.Regional Foods of Southern Italy takes us from Rome, where we eat a sumptuous Christmas Eve fish supper, through the harsh magnificence of Abruzzi's mountains to Naples, where we find the one true pizza and make a slight detour for the mythical orange tart of Capri. Our journey continues down the Amalfi coast through the ancient reaches of Puglia, where we find Pasta in Black, the ultimate comfort food, pause in little-known Basilicata for Honeyed Wild Rabbit braised with Chestnuts, and jolt our palates with Calabrian ricotta forte before ending up in Sicily and Sardinia. Here are more than 150 authentic recipes in a beautiful two-color cookbook that is " about simplicity and innocence . . . and about
the stories, inextricably woven into and wedded to the food.

Bad Bentheim, Germany: nice place to stay!

Lavender and roses!

Lavender in the Schlosspark!

Castle Bad Bentheim!

Castle grounds!

Tower of the castle!

Bad Bentheim is a town in Lower Saxony, Germany lying in the district of Grafschaft Bentheim on the borders with North Rhine-Westphalia and the Netherlands roughly 15 km south of Nordhorn and 20 km northeast of Enschede. It is also a state-recognized thermal brine and sulphur spa town, hence the designation Bad (“Bath”). In Bad Bentheim is also found the Burg Bentheim (castle), the town’s emblem.

The cave of the yellow dog! A great movie!

Moet hond Zochor zo meteen
alleen achterblijven, als het gezin zijn tenten
opbreekt en verder trekt?

The little nomad girl Nansal finds a baby dog in the mongolian
field, who becomes her best friend - against all rejections
of her partents. Only as the little dog, Zochor, saves the
life of the youngest son, father and mother finally
see his good soul. A story about a mongolian family
of nomads - their traditional way of life and the
rising call of the City.

Splendid film, which I have seen in the cinema a few
years ago and which I have bought to see more.
This movie is certainly recommended.

Wateringen, Molen van Wateringen! Mill, Wateringen!

A mill called 'Windlust', Wateringen!

The flour mill was established in 1869,
replacing an earlier wipkorenmill at the
same place, established in 1326.
In 1930 the wind power was turned off
and the mill felt into disrepair.
In 1969 the mill was purchased by
"Friends of the Water Mill". On May 1, 1972
the restoration was completed and the
mill was back into use, with only one
pair of stones.
Below the mill is a store located, where
flour of the mill is sold.
